Andrea Jane Atkinson Founder/Director
AJ’s personal experience with mental health and bereavement is extremely vast, she has unfortunately been through the most staggering amounts, caring for her father, grandma and husband through illness and then loss, losing her father, daughter, nearly her son, husband and brother and she is only in her 40’s. That’s not including the loss of her darling doggy Sandy or in-laws, grandmas, granddad’s aunties and uncles.
She has experienced rock bottom and managed to drag herself back from what felt like the bottomless pit…. but she did it and has even lived to tell the tale.
She prides herself on her passion to help people who are in that dark, lonely place and need help, this is not just about building a business for AJ it’s about following her destiny and purpose in life.
AJ has over 20 years of business and management experience from across all sectors of the community. AJs background lies within the charity sector where she managed a regional children’s charity for over 11 years, raising over £2 million. In this role she created, developed and implemented both financial and development strategies, company policies and procedures and project managed their complete events calendar, to achieve the charities’ main goal to progress to a stand-alone charity.
After achieving a Degree in Event Management in 2017, AJ set up EventSheAlity, a freelance event management service for the corporate and charity sectors in the Northeast of England.
With a proven track record of providing above and beyond clients’ expectations, AJ’s project management and administrative experience means she is always focused on the job that needs to be done. Extremely well connected within the Northeast business community with excellent interpersonal and customer care skills developed during 25 years of employment, which is key to the success of Inner Light Wellbeing CIC.
